About
Event Address: 101 Auburn Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA, USA
Description: The Auburn Avenue Research Library, in collaboration with the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation, and the Atlanta Public School System, will host the 2019 Ezra Jack Keats Atlanta Bookmaking Competition Awards Presentation. This event will feature an artist keynote address by award winning fine artist and illustrator Charly Palmer, who will discuss illustrating books and his Coretta Scott King Award winning book, "Mama Africa!: How Miriam Makeba Spread Hope with Her Song". At every Ezra Jack Keats Atlanta Bookmaking Competition Awards Presentation, young writers and artists walk onstage to accept their awards, cheered on by their families and teachers. This event is made possible by the generous support of the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation whose mission is to bring the multicultural, creative spirit of Keats into children's lives and literature.
