About

Event Address: 101 Auburn Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA, USA

Description: The Auburn Avenue Research Library will host a screening of the documentary film Blindfolded: How They Hid My Heritage from Me. Directed by filmmaker Edwin Sheppard, this compelling autobiographical documentary is a cinematic pilgrimage of personal self-discovery and enlightenment about Africa and African heritage. Via travel to the continent Mr. Sheppard reclaims Africa from the systemic Eurocentric misrepresentations which lie rooted in white supremacy, that continue to shape many African American's perception of their genealogical Motherland.
