Description:
In celebration of National Poetry Month, and throughout the month of April, the Auburn Avenue Research Library (AARL) will screen a variety of films and documentaries exploring poetry and the Black Theatre. This screening will be followed by a discussion.
This week, the Library highlights Black Excellence by screening Gil Scott-Heron - Black Wax. With a seductive fusion of soul, funk, jazz, pop and Afro-ethnic roots, Gil Scott-Heron glows with passion and sincerity. The film will examine his long-standing influence on rap.
