Devin Allen: Artist Talk & Family Portraits
On October 17th at CCCC HQ, you're invited to an exclusive event with acclaimed photographer Devin Allen. Drop in from 1:00-3:00 PM for a unique on-site family portrait captured by Allen, first-come, first-served. Afterward, from 3:00-5:00 PM, stay for an artist talk, moderated by co-curator Arthur Fitzhugh III as Allen discusses his current solo exhibition, She Saw Me Coming, alongside speakers Kirby Griffin and Sandman.
An RSVP is required to attend.
Program Schedule:
Family Portraits are done on a first-come, first-served basis, from 1-3 PM, outside at the CCCC HQ.
The artist talk will be from 3-5 PM.

She Saw Me Coming, a powerful new solo exhibition by acclaimed photographer, author, and activist Devin Allen. On view from September 26th-December 4th, the exhibition marks a deeply personal exploration of Allen’s family, memory, and Black domestic archives.
Devin Allen is a self-taught artist who gained national attention when his photograph of the Baltimore Uprising was published on the cover of TIME in May 2015. A native of Baltimore, Devin achieved a rare feat as only the third amateur photographer TIME selected to feature on its cover.
In 2017, he was named the first fellow of the Gordon Parks Foundation Fellowship and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award as a debut author for his book, A Beautiful Ghetto (Haymarket Books).
Devin was chosen to serve as a 2020 Ambassador for Leica Camera AG; and following the untimely deaths of George Floyd, Tony McDade, and Breonna Taylor,<
