About
Event Address: 101 Auburn Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA, USA
Description:
In celebration of National Poetry Month, and throughout the month of April, the Auburn Avenue Research Library (AARL) will screen a variety of films and documentaries exploring poetry and the Black Theatre. This screening will be followed by a discussion.
This week, the Library will highlight Black Excellence by screening An Evening with Nikki Giovanni. This hour-long, one-on-one, interview program provides a wonderful look inside the life of poet and educator Nikki Giovanni. Taped live in Atlanta, Georgia at Georgia Public Broadcasting on Saturday, June 18, 2005, this program was the eighth in The HistoryMakers' An Evening With... PBS-TV series. Writer, novelist and playwright Pearl Cleage interviewed her former childhood babysitter, Nikki Giovanni in front of a standing room only audience.
