As part of the weekly Community Dialogue and Discussion, the Auburn Avenue Research Library will highlight iconic cinematic features, highlighting Black Religion & Spirituality with a screening of the film HOMEGOINGS.

HOMEGOINGS is a documentary film about Isaiah Owens, a renowned funeral director in Harlem. Directed and produced by Christine Turner, it premiered at the 2013 Documentary Fortnight at MoMA in New York and opened the 26th Season of PBS’s award-winning series, POV. Featuring an original score by Daniel Bernard Roumain, the film paints a portrait of the dearly departed, their grieving families and a man who sends loved ones home.
